We are particularly grateful to those who generously give their time and talents to our Meeting.

Ministry and Counsel

Ministry and Counsel is responsible for promoting the spiritual welfare of the entire Meeting. This includes overseeing the Meeting for Worship, music, literature library, hospitality and visitors, and decorations. Clerk: Jeff Goens.


Trustees

The Trustees carry the responsibility for all physical property of the Meeting and investment of the Trust Funds. Clerk: Phil Goodchild. Treasurer: Eric Tinsley.


Fellowship Committee

This committee promotes fellowship among all members of the meeting through its activities. Clerk: Janis Crawford.


Music Committee

The Music Committee is responsible for the music in Meeting for Worship and the care of the organ, piano and choir needs.  This committee employs the organist and choir director and obtains soloists for summer worship services.


Circle of Care

This committee provides ongoing contact with our shut-ins and support for families with special needs.


Christian Education

The Christian Education Committee promotes the formation of a spiritual foundation for members and attenders of all ages and to foster their growth through educational experiences. Clerk: Chrissy Sommer


Witness and Service

Witness and Service is responsible for missionary, social service, and outreach interests of the Meeting, including special events and education. Clerk: Jody Long


Connections

This committee encourages membership growth, new member involvement, and overall participation in activities of the Meeting. Publishing the Meeting directory, scheduling ushers and greeters, and tracking Meeting statistics are also responsibilities of this committee. Clerk: Jim Kartholl


Finance and Development Committee

This committee prepares the budget, financial reports, and directs the stewardship and fundraising activities for the Meeting. Finance and Development is also responsible for the development of planned giving. Clerk: Loryne Coffin.


Nominating Committee

This committee nominates persons to serve on all program meetings, standing committees, and to fill vacancies that may occur throughout the year. Persons are nominated only after they consent to serve. Clerk: Eric Tinsley .


Maintenance Committee

The Maintenance Committee oversees the maintenance of the building and grounds. Clerk: Larry Mills.


Meditational Woods & Community Garden

This committee is responsible for developing program and coordinating use of the outdoor meditation area east of the Meetinghouse. Co-Clerks: Mary Blackburn & Mindy Sommer.


Friends Educational Fund Committee

The Friends Educational Fund Committee manages the Friends Educational Fund and accompanying scholarship. First Friends Meeting was entrusted with the estate of John Williams, a former slave, in the late 1800s. It has since become a scholarship fund that benefits African American students.
