The Linda Lee Spiritual Retreat Series

Linda Caldwell Lee

Linda Caldwell Lee was a poet and writer with a deep spiritual well. She herself had a mystical/peak experience and was inspired to travel the country interviewing other people who had had deeply spiritual or peak experiences. That resulted in a book entitled Mystics, Me and Moby (Moby was the name of her big white van she traveled  the country in). In addition to her book about mysticism she wrote four books of poetry. After  retuning to Indianapolis she became an active member of First Friends Quaker Meeting with a focus on spiritual exploration. Her personal mission was to be “an instrument of love”. Linda passed on to the next life in June of 2021.

The Linda Lee Spiritual Retreat was originally funded and founded by her long time partner Ed Morris as ongoing living memorial in her name. The retreat is managed by Pastors Bob Henry, Beth Henricks and volunteer Ed Morris under the care of the Ministry and Counsel Committee at First Friends Meeting.  The idea of the LLSR is to provide a spiritual retreat once a year at an affordable fee for the attenders. The intention is to give seekers an opportunity to enrich their spiritual lives using a fairly broad definition of “spiritual” and allowing for experiences and learnings from a variety of spiritual traditions as well as examinations of our own Quaker faith.
